Chapter 13 Court sponsored CLE

Save The Date: The Bankruptcy Court today announces a three-hour program presented by the Court, in both Portland (November 6, 9am – 12pm) and Bangor (November 7, 10am – 1pm).  The first two hours of the program will be presented by the Honorable Michael A. Fagone, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Alec Leddy, Clerk of Court, and Ciera Dye, Law Clerk.  This portion of the program will include a review of the amendments to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, which go into effect on December 1, 2017, related amendments to the Local Rules and the impact of these amendments, as well as the new form chapter 13 plan, on chapter 13 practice in the District of Maine.  During the third hour, staff from the Clerk’s Office will provide a detailed overview of new ECF docketing events relating to the rule amendments and a tutorial on using the new form chapter 13 plan.  All attorneys and their staff are invited to attend this free program in its entirety, or any portion thereof. The Court is investigating whether CLE credit will be awarded to attendees.

The program will be presented in the courtrooms in Portland and Bangor. In order for us to properly prepare, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To register for the Portland session on November 6, please send an email with your name and contact information to portlandrsvp@meb.uscourts.gov. To register for the Bangor session on November 7, please send an email with your name and contact information to bangorrsvp@meb.uscourts.gov. Each person who plans to attend must send their own email. One person, one email. The deadline for registering is MONDAY, OCTOBER 23. More detailed information, including an agenda and materials, will be sent after October 23 to those who have registered.
